Film Review

After finishing the film, I can wholeheartedly say that I am excited to turn it in. My group and I have done as good of a job as we possibly could, given our limited knowledge of the editing software and equipment used. However, I feel that what we learned this year in class was a huge asset to us when filming. When looking back on our film, I believe that the group and I did a very good job using the techniques that we learned earlier in the year. In the script, we used careful word choice in hopes to make the film realistic. We also used carefully chosen camera angles to give the best perspective for the audience. I think that we also selected music that well accompanies our film. I feel that we did the strongest in the editing process. We were able to trim scenes to the right length. We were also able to edit out unwanted noises that could be heard in the background that would take away from our film. In the editing process, we also fixed other issues. One of which was to remove a

Today we finished the editing process. We started off by reviewing the plan that we made that I shared in the previous blog. This plan included watching the film. We then had to listen for any unwanted noise. We then looked for any unwanted objects. . And then we had to decide where and when we wanted to add the title of the movie. Wyatt shared all the clips that we had in our group chat, and we decided which ones we wanted to stitch together to make the film. At this point, Wyatt and I cut out the parts of the clip when the camera was still rolling, but there was no dialogue or anything else that is important to the film. I did this so that we would not take up unwanted time. Once everything was stitched together, we knew how much time we had leftover to add in the title, names of the production companies, Director, etc. At this point, Wyatt started to remove any unwanted objects that were in our film. At the same time, I started to work on the title, coming up with names for the pr

The final step in my production of the film is editing. During the editing process, I need to make sure that the film is good enough to show. This means that I have to look at all the clips that we have taken and find the best ones. Once I found the best ones, I need to make sure that they are all adding up to the right amount of time so that I am not over the time limit. Once I have the right clips, I need to shorten them down. This way, the time between dialogue, while the camera was still rolling will not be included. And I still need to leave a little bit of room before and after the dialogue, so that I can add in transitions. As of right now, I am planning on mostly doing jump cuts, but if possible, I would like to experiment with other types of transitions. Once the transitions are done, I need to add in any effects. The biggest effect that I need to add will be the light from the spaceship that picks up one of my group members. As of right now, we hung a flashlight over her he

Today was the second day of filming. As we got most everything done the other day, we did not do much. First, we looked at the other film. We analyzed the lighting, angles, and any other imperfections. When we re-did these, we noticed some issues. First, we looked at the lighting. We wanted to have the fire be the main point of light, but it did not offer enough light for our film. Because of this, we decided to hide lights around the scene in order to illuminate the characters more. Next, we looked at the camera angles. We noticed that our camera angles were bland and uniform. We decided to try to implement other angles. We will eventually look into the angles when we edit. During that, we will choose which angles work and will keep. Lastly, we looked at miscellaneous problems. We noticed things like crooked cameras and things that we did not want in the scene. The crooked camera can be changed by re-orienting the film in editing software. Other, physical things can be dealt with by

Yesterday, we filmed. The process was more difficult than we anticipated. After school, we were all tired. We did not want to film, but we did it anyway. To start off, we got to Taylor‘s house half an hour before sunset. While we were there, we reviewed our plan and made sure nothing was standing in our way. And once we were sure that we were ready, we went up to the rooftop and waited for the sun to start setting. And once it was time, we started filming. The filming process went smoothly. We were able to get it done in less time than we thought. When we were done, we took a break and ate some of the marshmallows that we roasted. We spent some more time going over the film. We noticed what we liked and planned any adjustments. We then re-shot any scenes that we did not like. This process did not take too long. we had little to change because we did almost everything correctly the first time. We then went over the film again. because we liked it, we saved it to a shared file. We then
