 For this music video, my group chose the song "Pursuit of Happiness" by Kid Cudi. The song is Hip Hop/RB. The song is very different from other songs in the genre. The song deals with sadness, and the eventual capturing of happiness. There is only a hand full of songs that we found that were similar.

In the music videos, they wear formal attire because they are at a dinner party.

The props include plates, candles, chairs, and a table for them to sit at.

the people in the video are non-expressive in their emotions, but the artist is visibly discontent with the party.

The score of the video is the song

They use close-ups, panning shots, and tracking shots.

There are many lyrics from the song that are represented in the video

There are little to no conventions and codes in the music video. The entire video is live-action.

There are many different shots in the video. The most shown is a medium shot of the artist at a dinner table singing the song. 

The only logos in the song is the connections between the lyrics and the video. 

All in all, the video is a representation of the "pursuit of happiness". The video is mostly dark. The artist is also unimpressed, even in a lively environment. The song and video are also connected by the actions that are represented.

Comparing 9, the short, and 9, the full-length movie

  The first short film to analyze, is 9 by Shane Acker. The film is about a rag doll who lives in a miniature junkyard. In the beginning of the film, the main character is working with a friend to get a lightbulb to work. While doing this, a monster is shown to be working in the shadows. The main characters friend notices and tells the main character to run as they stay behind to fight off the beast. The main character turns around to watch their friend, get easily overpowered and killed by the monster. This monster then turns its attention to the main character, chasing it until the main character can get out of sight for a few seconds. At this point, the main character devise is a trap to jump on top of the monster, which does not work out. By the end of the film, the main character is backed up on a ledge, while the monster creeps towards it. Group Blog (2022/23)

   I would like to do my A-level film in a group. Last year, I expressed my uncertainty on the topic of groups. I stated how I often found it easier to work by myself because you have full control over all the components of the project. I went on to say "You do not have to rely on other people, and you will not be dragged down if they forget their work". I remember stating that there was no clear answer, but this year, I have come to a conclusion. I decided that the best way to go is to put my trust in the abilities of my group mates. I would like to partner with Max, Jibril, and Alec because I believe it will make creating the film easier. Max is someone who can point me in the right direction. We have been in many of the same classes over the last couple years and we have gotten along very well.
